ABOUT MICK
Mick Brown is one of the most well known and
certainly one of the most enthusiastic anglers in
Great Britain.  Over the last twenty years he has
become well known for his written work and
photography, and in more recent times has
become a popular
television personality. His
influence now extends all across Europe where he
also features in the European angling press.
Although Mick has caught large fish of most
species, he is renowned for his pike catching
exploits.  To date he has 284 pike over twenty
pounds to his credit, including 22 over thirty
pounds. His pike catches have been made in
many countries and from every type of water
imaginable.  In fact he has taken twenty pound
plus pike from more than fifty different waters.
Mick's philosophy is to enjoy every fish that he
catches, whether large or small and regardless of
species. It's the fishing experience that counts.

In 1991 he left his career in engineering to
become a professional predator angler after
setting up his business Mick Brown Angling
Services. Combining his technical and writing
skills with his vast angling experience, he soon
became useful to the UK's top tackle and bait
manufacturers. His love of all types of fishing has
led to him being involved in a wide variety of
activities. More recently his passion for fly fishing
has seen him teaming up with his buddy Matt
Hayes and they are busy hatching plans together
for some great fishing trips in 2010. Mick is also
consultant to UK based
Dynamite Baits, the
leading supplier of anglers baits in Europe.

Nowadays Mick is perfectly content in his
business of developing new products and ideas for
the tackle and bait industry which means that he
gets to make good use of his engineering
background and spend as much time as possible
by the water. Luckily his wife Jan shares his love
of the outdoors and gives him her full support.
